Barriers in Girls Education:

“Educate one girl means educate one generation”
But in our society we still do not have trend of giving higher education to girls. There are certain reasons behind it. First of all there is lack of awareness. People do not know the importance of education especially for girls. They just have a concept in mind that boys would be going to earn money and support their families after education but girls will get married and their education will be wasted. So many parents do not want to spend much money on girls’ education. To promote the trend of giving education to girls it is very essential to create awareness among the people. It should be make very clear in their mind that education does not have only one purpose i.e. earning money. Education builds up the character and personality of a person. For girls it is very necessary that they have a very balance personality because in future they will be going to lead the foundations of a family. Therefore it is very crucial for a girl to be educated so that she can have a better version of life and society. And she can not only manage her home well, but also grow up her children in better way to make them sensible citizens.
Another barrier in the way of girl education is poverty. Most of the people in Pakistan are living in such miserable conditions that they hardly keep their body and soul together. In this situation they can not think of spending any money on girls’ education, especially when they consider it useless. To overcome this problem not only government but also non-governmental organizations have to play a role. And that role should be more then arranging seminars and holding conferences. There should be a free but efficient system of education for girls so that poor people can also think of educating their girls.
In our society it can be seen in many houses that boys after getting marriage, set their own life and leave parents or the family faces some other financial problems may be due to unexpected death of head of the family. In such cases if the parents were wise that they have educated their girls, then the girls help them in managing life. But if girls are not educated then they can do only small jobs like work in factories etc. and they can not support their home well. So educating a girl in beneficial in every way either they go out side and work or they sit at their homes and grow children.
The importance of education for girls must be highlighted in very effective way through media and inter personal communication. So that more and more people will be aware of the fact that educating a girl is something very beneficial not only for herself but for the whole society
