Author Guidelines

Author Guidelines

Authors are requested to submit their work electronically by using the Pakistan Review’s online submission system. Please follow the instructions provided for each step during the online submission process.

Format

  • Page margins should be 1 inch on each side
  • Times New Roman
  • Font Size: 12
  • Do not bold text within sentences and paragraphs.
  • Only the initials of words have to be in upper case in headings.
  • Since articles are anonymously reviewed, submit your manuscript without mentioning author names. Rather, upload your information on the journal site while uploading your manuscript.

About Publications

The following types of material will be accepted for publication.

Book reviews

Book reviews should be less than 1500 words (please supply a word count with the document). The reviewed book must have been published within the last five years. Only a limited number of book reviews will be published in each period.

Research articles

The research article should be less than 8,000 words, not including the abstract, figure, tables, and references (please supply a word count). The papers may represent a variety of theoretical perspectives and different methodological approaches.

All articles should have a short title of fewer than 50 characters, an abstract that contains fewer than 250 words, structured as follows:

  • background (including the aims of the study).
  • Methods (data collection and analysis)
  • If space is limited, report only the primary outcomes.

 

Academic essays

The academic essays should be less than 2,500 words, not including figures, tables, and references (please supply a word count with your essay).

Reference style

Text: Citations in the text should follow the referencing style used by the American Psychological Association. You are referred to the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association, Sixth Edition, ISBN 978-1-4338-0561-5, copies of which may be ordered online or APA Order Dept., P.O.B. 2710, Hyattsville, MD 20784, USA, or APA, 3 Henrietta Street, London, WC3E 8LU, UK.
List: references should be arranged first alphabetically and then further sorted chronologically if necessary. More than one reference from the same author(s) in the same year must be identified by the letters 'a', 'b', 'c', etc., placed after the year of publication.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
